After reading some of these comments i was a little worried about staying here, but the place was awesome. Yes it is an older motel, but was clean and tidy and the penthouse room had amazing skylights, it was spacious and quiet. The spa bath was great. The bed a little hard for my liking - that is about all l could fault. Hosts are lovely too.

This is an older motel, and for our purpose of going to cirque du soleil the location was perfect, right across the road from alexandra park meant no parking hassles so that was wonderful. As an older motel though, i did feel that the price charged for our room (the penthouse) was rather steep, at $200 per night (discounted to $180 with a travelbug voucher) i felt the room and facilities could have been way better. The room (and most likely the whole facility) is in major need of some maintenance and upkeep, the beautiful glass panels in our room were spoilt by the fact that they were very grubby, the tiles around the spa bath were falling apart, we had no hot water in the morning (which apparently shouldn't have happened as they are on a continuous gas supply), and just a few other minor inconveniences. The hosts however are lovely and friendly, (they gave me a $20 reduction in the price i paid due to the no hot water), but an upgrade of facilities would improve this motel greatly.
