We are ideally located within walking distance to the beautiful shores of Mount Maunganui Beach, offering affordable accommodation suitable for backpackers, families, sport groups, school groups clubs or societies. Pacific Coast Lodge and Backpackers can cater for a one night stay to weekly boarders looking for work. Mount Maunganui is New Zealand's summer playground and it sparkles with 100km of white sandy beaches and enticing blue ocean. The seaside resort town is New Zealander's favorite holiday destination with the spectacular crashing surf beach on one side and the tranquil sheltered harbour on the other draws thousands of holiday makers every summer season and the international traveler throughout the year. There's plenty to do in the Bay of Plenty from swimming with Dolphins, amazing walks, hot pools, to deep sea fishing and surfing we are the perfect place to base yourself and experience what the wider Bay of Plenty has to offer. As we are just 5 minutes walk from downtown the Mount, we offer a quiet stay, within walking distance to all amenities. We are perfectly situated if you're looking to be near the beach in Mount Maunganui (only 500m / 5 minute walk from Tay Street Beach for the best surf!). Or if you are needing to be in town for a sporting event we are opposite Blake Park Sports ground, 4km to BayWave TECT Aquatic Centre and only 5km to Bay Park Stadium! We've also have FREE surfboards so you can enjoy the waves and the sun! At Pacific Coast Lodge you will have a clean, fun and social atmosphere where it is easy to meet other travelers and share all your wonderful travel adventures.... come and share them with us! Directions to Hostel We are situated at 432 Maunganui road which is the main road into Mount Maunganui (and also the main road of the Mount). We are near to McDonalds also. The local bus stop is located right out the front of the Backpackers, hop on Bus # 2 if you have arrived into Tauranga. The NAKED BUS and INTERCITY bus stop is also right outside -- Make sure you choose 'Mount Maunganui' for Nakedbus, and choose stop code PCL Pacific Coast Lodge for Intercity.

Our 10-Bed dorm room houses five sets of single bunk beds, and plenty of space for your backpack and other luggage. A cotton bottom sheet and pillow with pillow case is also provided on each bed. There are power points for your electrical appliances. Fans and hot-water bottles are available on request. Towels can be hired for $2 each.

1 bed in a 4 Bed Dorm

Our 4-Bed dorm room houses two sets of single bunk beds, and plenty of space for your backpack and other luggage. A cotton bottom sheet and pillow with pillow case is also provided on each bed. Double Room

Our Double Rooms have one double bed, made up with full linen. There is also a small vanity area including a sink, and a small bedside table/cabinet. There is plenty of space for your luggage and belongings and powerpoints for your electrical appliances.

Our Twin room has two single beds, made up with full linen. There is also a small vanity area including a sink, and a small bedside table/cabinet. There is plenty of space for your luggage and belongings and powerpoints for your electrical appliances.
